The purpose of this privacy setting is pretty self explanatory. Any of the friends that you have configured with this privacy setting will not be able to locate you with Google Latitude. The second setting for privacy in the Google Latitude application is called hide my location. Choose this privacy setting when you don’t want any of your friends to be able to locate you.
Google doesn’t charge to use the cell phone tracking application but you will have to pay for data usage time with your cell phone service provider. I would recommend that you subscribe to an unlimited use data plan if you plan on using Google Latitude very often.
